Job Summary

Job Purpose

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is responsible for the overall strategic direction operational excellence and financial performance of the interior contracting company in India. The single-point executive authority accountable for the profitability cash flow project delivery compliance and organizational performance of the interior contracting business. The role focuses on driving sustainable growth ensuring timely and quality execution of interior projects maintaining statutory compliance strengthening client and vendor relationships and building a performance-driven organizational culture.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic & Business Leadership

  • Develop and implement business strategies aligned with Indian interior contracting market trends.
  • Expand business across commercial offices hospitals IT parks retail hospitality healthcare and premium residential interiors.
  • Identify opportunities through tenders direct clients PMC consultants architects and corporates.
  • Strengthen company branding market reputation and prequalification credentials.

2. Business Development & Contracts

  • Lead business development efforts including tender participation BOQs estimation and commercial negotiations.
  • Approve pricing strategies margins and contract terms.
  • Oversee preparation and review of work orders LOIs and agreements.
  • Maintain relationships with key clients developers corporates architects and project management consultants (PMCs).

3. Project Execution & Operations

  • Oversee project execution across multiple sites and cities.
  • Ensure projects adhere to approved drawings BOQs timelines and budgets.
  • Monitor project planning procurement schedules manpower deployment and site coordination.
  • Review weekly and monthly project progress cost and billing reports.
  • Ensure timely certification invoicing and collections.

4. Financial Control & Compliance

  • Oversee budgeting cash flow management working capital and profitability.
  • Ensure effective control of project costs variations and change orders.
  • Review MIS P&L balance sheets and audit reports.
  • Ensure compliance with Indian statutory requirements including:
    • GST TDS Income Tax
    • PF ESI Labour Laws
    • Contract Labour (R&A) Act
  • Coordinate with auditors bankers and financial institutions.

5. Procurement & Vendor Management

  • Approve key vendors subcontractors and material suppliers.
  • Establish procurement policies for materials such as woodwork modular systems MEP partitions flooring and finishes.
  • Negotiate bulk purchasing contracts to improve margins.
  • Ensure timely material availability and quality compliance.

6. Quality Safety & Risk Management

  • Ensure implementation of quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) systems.
  • Enforce site safety standards as per Indian construction norms.
  • Minimize project risks related to delays penalties and contractual disputes.
  • Handle legal matters claims and arbitration with support from legal advisors.

7. Human Resources & Organizational Development

  • Build and lead leadership teams across Projects Design Estimation Procurement Finance HR and Safety.
  • Approve manpower planning performance reviews and succession planning.
  • Promote training programs for site engineers supervisors and project managers.
  • Ensure compliance with HR policies statutory benefits and employee welfare.

8. Stakeholder & Governance Responsibilities

  • Act as the principal interface with promoters board members clients and statutory authorities.
  • Present business plans annual budgets and performance reviews to the Board.
  • Ensure ethical practices governance standards and transparency.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of Indian interior contracting and fit-out execution
  • Expertise in contracts BOQs estimation and project controls
  • Financial acumen with focus on cash flow and working capital
  • Leadership negotiation and decision-making skills
  • Knowledge of Indian labor laws and construction compliance
  • Ability to manage multi-location projects and diverse teams

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering / Architecture / Construction Management
  • MBA or Postgraduate qualification in Management preferred
  • Total 10–15 years of experience in construction or interior contracting
  • Minimum 7–10 years in a senior leadership role
  • Proven experience handling large-scale commercial interior projects in India/ Gulf countries
