SENIOR BOOKKEEPER - R 55-60k pm - CBD Cape Town
A well-established multi-entity business with a national footprint is looking to appoint a capable Senior Bookkeeper to support and maintain its core finance function. The role suits someone who works confidently and independently maintains strong control of the numbers and values being trusted with real responsibility. It offers a high degree of autonomy in running the finance function direct collaboration with the owner on cash flow and decision support a stable operating environment and the opportunity to add genuine commercial value through insight and financial discipline.
Scope of the role includes:
Ownership of the bookkeeping function through to Trial Balance
Preparation of monthly management packs including income statements and supporting schedules
Ongoing processing of income and supplier transactions
Monitoring and follow-up of outstanding balances
Monthly bank and cash reconciliations
Review of monthly commission and payroll inputs
Preparation of statutory returns and related payments
Assisting with cash flow planning budgets and audit processes
Liaison with external accountants and auditors when required
Requirements
Experience required:
8 yrs experience in a senior bookkeeping capacity
Confident working across multiple entities or operational divisions
Working knowledge of Sage Pastel Partner and payroll systems
Solid Excel and general MS Office capability
Comfortable in a trusted hands-on role with minimal oversight
