Waltham Forest is setting an ambitious vision for a changed borough by 2030 with the development of our new Corporate Plan; Mission Waltham Forest. The scale of inequality faced by our residents is all too often the barrier that holds people back from realising their ambitions. Local government is also facing unprecedented financial challenges. Mission Waltham Forest sets out how we will respond to these complex societal challenges whilst keeping a firm financial footing.

To deliver on this ambitious agenda we are mobilising a multi-year Transformation Programme. We must confront the pressing challenge of increasing demand and diminishing resources - to do this we will need to fundamentally change the way we work and set out a radical transition to delivering an outstanding experience for every resident that needs our help.

We are seeking to recruit an organised and motivated Project Manager to support the delivery of key projects as part of our change and transformation this role you will:

  • Deliver: Manage the successful delivery of projects ensuring effective planning risk management and progress tracking.
  • Problem-Solve: Use your analytical skills to overcome challenges and keep projects on track.
  • Collaborate: Work closely with colleagues across Council services and external partners to ensure projects meet agreed objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the delivery of defined projects ensuring they are completed on time within scope and to quality standards.
  • Develop and maintain project plans including timelines resources and risk registers.
  • Monitor progress and report on performance escalating issues where necessary.
  • Engage and communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure alignment and support for project outcomes.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying lessons learned and sharing best practice.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Experience in project management within a complex organisation.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and build positive relationships with stakeholders.
  • Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience.
