Council is offering a school-based Mechanic Apprenticeship for students interested in starting a career in the automative industry. This opportunity is available to students entering Year 10 or 11 in 2026. The role involves working one day per week for two years with additional days required during school holiday periods.
As an apprentice you will work alongside a team of experienced professionals who will help you develop the skills and knowledge needed to diagnose repair and service a variety of heavy and light vehicles and equipment. Youll receive hands-on training and work towards achieving a Certificate in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology.
A White Card & Drivers Licence is essential or ability to obtain. You will not be required to have a licence but must be able to obtain a P1 licence within the first 12 months of employment.
This position is classified in the Traineeship Range of Councils Salary Structure with a salary depending on age. Conditions of employment are in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award 2023.
