Tekōwhiringa The Opportunity
In this pivotal role you will partner with the Head of Finance and Senior Finance Business Partners to align financial operations with strategic business goals for Transport & Infrastructure New Zealand. Youll play a critical part in delivering accurate high-quality financial services from month-end reporting and budgeting to project performance analysis and process improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver strategic commercial advice and financial analysis to support operational decisions
- Lead project and general accounting activities including budgeting forecasting and WIP management
- Ensure robust month-end processes accruals reconciliations and reporting
- Project accounting: project creation. management valuation closing
- Oversee audit compliance tax and treasury functions
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation across finance systems and processes
- Support and develop a high-performance finance team through effective leadership and coaching
Nga pūkenga matua Important Skills
- 7 years of experience in a senior finance role
- Tertiary qualification in Commerce Accounting or related field
- CA/CPA qualified
- Experience in project accounting(advantageous)
- Proven leadership skills with a collaborative solutions-focused mindset
- Strong technical accounting budgeting and project finance skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
- Ability to manage complexity and drive performance in a fast-paced environment
