Mō te Tūranga About the Role
This is a rare opportunity to lead a well-established and high performing team encompassing Fixed Income Foreign Exchange Commodities as well as Business & Corporate Sales Investor Sales and Markets Research.
Additionally the GM Markets is responsible for BNZs Debt Capital Markets and Securitisation business. With two main bases in Wellington and Auckland the team are looking for a leader to champion and inspire this role you will report to our Executive Corporate & Institutional Banking and work closely with NABs Global Financial Markets teams.
What are some of the key responsibilities the General Manager will own
To lead coach and motivate a high performing team to deliver on Markets targets and strategies.
To meet key financial metrics whilst enhancing customer advocacy and loyalty and meeting BNZs risk profile.
Sponsor strategic transformation and simplification initiatives in support of BNZ/global change programmes. Promote digital-led and data-driven capability uplift across the Markets business to enhance customer insights and growth.
Lead the implementation and achievement of agreed business strategies and plans e.g. Profit & Loss; Return on Equity; CTI Credit and Funding Ratios etc.
Actively work with key stakeholders represent BNZ with industry bodies and regulators.

A high performing leader with proven success in leading a team of experienced and engaged professionals
Excellent commercial acumen and track record in delivery of new and innovative products and/or customer solutions
An industry leader with the credibility to be a trusted advisor to the team
Negotiation and presentation skills at senior management (CFO CEO Board) level
What will success look like for the candidate in this role
To be successful in this role you will need a deep understanding of financial markets have a significant industry presence extensive leadership experience and the ability to maintain excellent relationships with our key internal and external stakeholders including customers and regulators.
