Job Goal(s):
The primary job goal of the Health Careers Program Assistant is to assist the instructor with dailyinstruction and operation of the Allied Health program.

7 hours per day
Classification:
Specialized Program Assistant
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
- High School diploma required.
- Associates degree or completion of two years college equal to 60 semester hours is preferred.
Certification:
- First Aid/CPR/AED certification preferred
- Other medical certifications/licenses will be considered
Work Experience:
Demonstrated accomplishments in health occupations field preferred
Skills:
- Ability to work comfortably with secondary students
- Possess effective oral and written communication skills
- Possess strong interpersonal skills
- Self-Driven
- Proficient with technology for instruction student management and communication
Essential Job Functions:
- Assist instructor with the daily educational and operational functions of the program.
- Assist students with classroom laboratory or clinical skills under the direction of the instructor.
- Assist with the daily classroom supervision of students.
- Assist the instructor with class inventory control and supply restrictions.
- Assist and maintain student files and immunization records.
- Remain current on health occupations development and training.
- Organize and complete required paperwork for class field trips job shadow/clinical rotations and function as a chaperone when needed.
- Participate on the Allied Health Advisory Committee.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the instructor or administrator.
- Regular and reliable in person attendance.
- Valid drivers license required.
Terms of Employment: As per master agreement and provisions established by the Van BurenISD Board of Education.
