The Rail Planner is responsible for managing and coordinating all planning activities to ensure safe efficient and compliant railway operations. This role involves technical commercial and stakeholder engagement challenges across projects and business activities supporting the delivery of high-quality rail infrastructure services.
Hours: Monday to Friday 6am-2pm
Key Responsibilities
- Planning and Booking Possessions/Isolations
Schedule and manage track possessions and electrical isolations to minimize operational disruption and ensure compliance with safety standards. - Attend Weekly RFLI Planning Meetings
Provide updates collaborate on upcoming works and represent planning interests. - Client Relationship Management
Build and maintain strong collaborative relationships with RFLI delivery managers to ensure alignment and smooth delivery. - Project Leadership
Lead and deliver projects focused on railway planning operational performance and efficiency improvements. - Quality Assurance
Review check and approve analysis and reports produced by the team to maintain high standards. - Support to RFLI Manager
Assist with contractual obligations reporting and compliance activities.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Planning and Organising
Ability to structure complex tasks manage timelines and prioritize effectively. - Problem Solving
Identify issues analyse root causes and implement practical solutions. - Communicating and Influencing
Strong interpersonal skills to convey information clearly
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience in rail planning and possession management.
- Strong understanding of railway operations and safety standards.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to lead projects and deliver results under pressure.
