Your impact

As a Junior Legal Counsel you will mainly focus on commercial contracting and day-to-day legal work. You will report to the Commercial Counsel Lead and be part of Mollies wider Legal Team. You will play a crucial role in professionalising our business foundation and supporting Mollies sustainable growth across Europe. Working cross-functionally from our Amsterdam HQ you will manage your own projects drive product launches partnerships and expansion. Together with your team members you will also work on larger firm-wide projects. You will act as a sound stakeholder manager analysing business needs to create pragmatic solutions that help us become the most loved financial service provider in Europe.

What youll ship

• Commercial Contracting: Launch new products payment methods and commercial deals. You are a key player in drafting reviewing and negotiating agreements with customers partners and suppliers.

• Expansion: Contribute to Mollies expansion throughout Europe with a focus on product commercial deals and new licenses (if needed).

• Dispute Resolution: Manage disputes and claims from merchants and suppliers collaborating with external counsel when necessary to resolve issues effectively.

• Legal Operations & Scale: Support the development of legal operations to increase the efficiency and scalability of our commercial legal support.

• Advisory & Governance: Advise the business on a variety of legal topics: from corporate housekeeping and IP protection to financial regulatory requirements and handling fraudsters and deal with external authorities

• Internal Enablement: Empower the business by providing internal training on legal aspects to enhance professionalism across the organization.

What youll bring

• Experience & Education: An advanced law degree from a European University with 24 years of relevant experience at a top-tier law firm or in-house department.

• Contracting Expertise: A passion for drafting and negotiating complex contracts combined with a pragmatic commercial approach to solving business needs.

• Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English with the ability to work cross-functionally and win people over. A big plus if you also speak a second European language with business proficiency.

• Adaptability: The flexibility to prioritize in a fast-paced international environment balancing a high degree of accountability with an eye for detail.

• Proactive Mindset: An enthusiastic resourceful approach with a willingness to jump in and do whatever needs to be done to drive change.

• Industry Knowledge (Nice to have): Familiarity with payment or financial services industries particularly within high-growth or regulated companies.
