Job Description Summary:
The HR Generalist reports to the VP of Human Resources and assists with the recruiting activities throughout the organization. The HR Generalist will research develop and implement recruiting and staffing strategies source and screen candidates coordinate interviews maintain job descriptions for all positions and assist in establishing pay ranges.
Responsibilities:
- Create detailed job descriptions updating annually and maintaining on the company intranet
- Establish qualification requirements of new positions with managers and VP of HR
- Research compensation trends in local markets industry specific university placements etc.
- Assist the VP HR in establishing salary ranges for all positions
- Responsible for the job posting process for internal recruiting
- Coordinate social media recruiting activity
- Screen applicants to create a shortlist of qualified candidates
- Schedule interviews and help develop interview questions when needed
- Mediate between candidates and hiring managers
- Use web-based technology and social media to analyze hiring trends post job vacancies and following up with candidates during the hiring process
- Produce reports on recruiting activity
- Measure the results of candidate interviews and job placements using hiring metrics
- Identify and implement efficient and effective recruiting methods and strategies based on the available role industry standards and the needs of the organization
- Ensures compliance with federal state and local employment laws and regulations and company policies in all recruiting activity
- May attend and participate in college job fairs and recruiting sessions
- Provide backup for a designated position in the HR Department
- Perform other duties as assigned
Recruiting Specialist Requirements:
- 3-5 years of experience as a recruiting specialist with a track record of employee placement.
- Excellent analytical skills to examine resumes and find the best-suited candidates.
- Clear verbal skills to communicate well with candidates and managers.
- Proficient writing skills to produce reports on hiring analyses.
- The ability to work within a team and to coordinate team activities.
- Bachelors degree in HR business psychology or another related field.
- In-depth knowledge of hiring strategies labor laws and employment equity.
