Were re-launching our Civil Engineering Department in Seattle and seeking a Senior Discipline Civil Engineer to help build it from the ground up. This is a high-impact role for a proven technical leader whos excited to shape a team elevate client relationships and grow a practicewith clear leadership responsibility and potential pathway to management/ownership (subject to company policies) in a well-established multi-discipline office.

Key responsibilities will include:
- Lead mentor and develop a team of engineers designers and technical staff
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance work culture
- Manage civil engineering projects from inception to completion maintaining quality schedule and budget adherence
- Provide technical oversight and quality control for designs reports and deliverables
- Serve as a subject matter expert in civil engineering design regulatory compliance and industry best practices
- Identify and pursue business opportunities
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients municipalities and key stakeholders
- Lead proposal development contract negotiations and project scope discussions
- Monitor project profitability and implement process improvements as needed

Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration required
- Registration in Washington (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
- Registration in Oregon preferred.
- Minimum of 12 years of progressive civil engineering site development experience including the following:
- Preparing fee and qualifications-based proposals
- Managing multiple concurrent projects
- Leading design team efforts
- Successfully managing project budgets and schedules
- Interfacing with a multi-discipline design team
- Mentoring junior staff
- Client management
- Technical experience with hydrologic and hydraulic calculations technical studies mapping documents preparation and processing of civil construction documents and earthwork calculations
- Stormwater experience in Western Washington strongly preferred
- Excellent communication client service and team leadership skills.
- Ability to foster long term client relationships
- Business development interest and the ability to help win and grow work.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience coordinating with a multi-discipline design team is strongly preferred
- Experience collaborating with local architectural/engineering community is strongly preferred
- Proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D Microsoft office and other software
- Project experience in Industrial Federal and Alternative Energy / Energy Storage markets strongly preferred
- Experience designing public utilities
- Experience serving as a prime consultant
- Experience with zoning entitlements and permit procurement
- Ability to work with counterparts in other Coffman offices to share workload when required
- Experience with managing day-to-day contacts with internal and external clients utilizing experience and technology to meet expectations
- Experience attending and participating in local professional organizations
- Specification preparation experience preferred
Knowledge Skills & Abilities
- Must be a self-starter persistent and follow through in a consistent manner
- Passionate about the client or pursuit and takes ownership of his/her work
- Able to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Possess strong critical thinking organizational and analytical abilities
