Senior Discipline Civil Engineer (15+ Years)

Were re-launching our Civil Engineering Department in Seattle and seeking a Senior Discipline Civil Engineer to help build it from the ground up. This is a high-impact role for a proven technical leader whos excited to shape a team elevate client relationships and grow a practicewith clear leadership responsibility and potential pathway to management/ownership (subject to company policies) in a well-established multi-discipline office.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Lead mentor and develop a team of engineers designers and technical staff
• Foster a collaborative and high-performance work culture
• Manage civil engineering projects from inception to completion maintaining quality schedule and budget adherence
• Provide technical oversight and quality control for designs reports and deliverables
• Serve as a subject matter expert in civil engineering design regulatory compliance and industry best practices
• Identify and pursue business opportunities
• Develop and maintain relationships with clients municipalities and key stakeholders
• Lead proposal development contract negotiations and project scope discussions
• Monitor project profitability and implement process improvements as needed

Qualifications :

• Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration required
  • Registration in Washington (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
  • Registration in Oregon preferred.
• Minimum of 12 years of progressive civil engineering site development experience including the following:  
  • Preparing fee and qualifications-based proposals
  • Managing multiple concurrent projects
  • Leading design team efforts
  • Successfully managing project budgets and schedules
  • Interfacing with a multi-discipline design team
  • Mentoring junior staff
  • Client management
• Technical experience with hydrologic and hydraulic calculations technical studies mapping documents preparation and processing of civil construction documents and earthwork calculations
  • Stormwater experience in Western Washington strongly preferred
• Excellent communication client service and team leadership skills.
• Ability to foster long term client relationships
• Business development interest and the ability to help win and grow work.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience coordinating with a multi-discipline design team is strongly preferred
• Experience collaborating with local architectural/engineering community is strongly preferred
• Proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D Microsoft office and other software
• Project experience in Industrial Federal and Alternative Energy / Energy Storage markets strongly preferred
• Experience designing public utilities
• Experience serving as a prime consultant
• Experience with zoning entitlements and permit procurement
• Ability to work with counterparts in other Coffman offices to share workload when required
• Experience with managing day-to-day contacts with internal and external clients utilizing experience and technology to meet expectations
• Experience attending and participating in local professional organizations
• Specification preparation experience preferred

• Ability to work with counterparts in other offices to share workload when required

Expected annual salary of $130000 - $180000.
