Are you looking to grow your experience as a project manager while supporting major behavioral health system changes in Washington State Join our team and you can support projects that span multiple communities and connects a wide variety of people.

This permanent position is one of several positions in the Project Management Office (PMO). We handle a complex and growing portfolio of strategic high-impact high-visibility projects for the Behavioral Health & Habilitation Administration (BHHA) in DSHS. Our collaborative and supportive team environment offers a wealth of opportunity to share your talents and skills while learning new skills from our diverse team members.

Projects underway include transitioning DSHS BHHA facilities to electronic health records opening up a new nursing facility and a new 350-bed forensic hospital change initiatives supporting organizational realignment and supporting transitions of care between settings among others.

This is a flexible/hybrid role meaning you can work remotely the majority of time with occasional in-person meetings in Olympia. Some occasional travel may be necessary.

Some of What youll do
  • Coordinate management of multiple projects while working with diverse stakeholders and partners across the state
  • Serve as a critical partner in communicating a consistent and shared message about the work that is underway
  • Develop project documents and support business owners as they work to implement assigned projects
  • Manage resources schedules budget issues risks and project changes to ensure successful delivery of projects
  • Provide status reports to management highlighting project milestones deliverables dependencies risks and issues while communicating to leadership and the project authorizing environment
  • Balance competing demands and priorities for resources
What were looking for
Professionals with the following are encouraged to apply:
  • Bachelors Degree and at least five years experience managing projects in a wide range of subject areas
  • Certificate in Project Management from an accredited school; PMI certification is a plus but not required
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills and the ability to effectively communicate with varying internal and external audiences with at times diverse interests
  • Experience working with competing priorities and consistently delivering quality outcomes
  • Demonstrate proficient planning and organizational abilities while still remaining flexible and adaptable
  • Adept at building trusting partnerships; acting with integrity and emotional intelligence
  • Skilled at managing perceptions in a political environment
  • Work is mostly remote with certain activities requiring in-person meetings and/or statewide travel
