Job Summary

RecruitNet International Ltd specialises in healthcare recruitment for both domestic and overseas candidates across hospitals nursing homes home care and community care settings.

We are currently recruiting a Medical Social Worker for a leading nursing home in Dublin Ireland.

Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide a comprehensive social work and counselling service to patients and their families ensuring holistic person-centred care.

  • Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build effective collaborative working relationships within the multidisciplinary team.

  • Develop robust individualised patient care and discharge plans in partnership with patients families and the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe and effective transfer to the community.

  • Apply and promote the social model of care supporting and educating colleagues on its role and how it complements the medical model in patient care.

  • Maintain a strong focus on the primacy of the patient in all aspects of practice upholding human rights dignity integrity and consent-led interventions.

  • Manage a diverse caseload including complex urgent emergency priority routine episodic and acute cases in line with service needs.

  • Foster strong multidisciplinary professional relationships that support collaborative person-centred practice across the service.

  • Participate fully in performance management processes including regular review and appraisal as directed by the Director of Clinical Services and the Principal Social Worker.

  • Practice in accordance with CORU Code of Ethics and Standards hospital policies and procedures and all relevant health and safety regulations.



  • Requirements

  • Hold a recognised third-level qualification in Social Work.

  • Maintain current registration with CORU.

  • Possess a relevant postgraduate qualification (desirable).

  • Required Skills:
