Job Summary

Reporting to the Social Care Manager the right candidate will encourage the
development of positive attachments through relationship building with the overall goal
of providing a therapeutic environment for children and young people.

Job Overview:
Create and maintain a safe caring and stable environment for the young people
placed in the centre.
Ensure that Care and Placement Plans are in place agreed implemented and
monitored regularly in respect of every young person placed in the centre.
Promote the rights and responsibilities of each young person in the centre.
Ensure the appropriate use of resources within the centre.
Consult with young people placed in the centre and their families
Provide an on-call service for the centre and for Childrens Residential Centres on
a rota basis.
Maintain the budget for the centre in compliance with approved budgetary
procedures.
Supervise staff in the centre.
Arrange the duty roster and manage the designated staff resources.
Have a working knowledge of the National Standards for Childrens Residential
Centres.

Requirements

Level 7 or 8 qualification in Social Care.
Professional Qualification in teaching social care social work or youth work
At least 3 years of post-qualifying experience in mainstream residential care.
At least 3 years direct experience of working in and/or managing services to
vulnerable children and young people.
Excellent communication and report writing skills.
I.T Skills
Full clean Irish drivers license that has been held for one year or more.

Support adults with intellectual disabilities in daily living Promote independence dignity and inclusion in the community Develop and deliver person-centred care and support plans Assist with personal care household tasks and social activities Administer medication and maintain accurate records Work closely with a multidisciplinary team Ensure all care meets HIQA and safeguarding standards


Required Education:

Level 7 QQI qualification in Social Care Studies (or equivalent)At least 1 years experience supporting adults with intellectual disabilities or vulnerable adultsStrong teamwork communication and interpersonal skillsKnowledge of HIQA regulations and person-centred planningFull clean drivers license (vehicle provided for resident transport)Flexibility for evenings nights weekends and 24-hour shifts
