A vacancy has arisen for a Sqn Ldr (Cyberspace Engineer RAF Eng (CE)) to serve as SO2 Intelligence Mission Data at RAF Northwood on Full Time Reserve Service (Limited Commitment) Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS) with an initial proposed start date of 01 June 2026 (or earlier/later subject to candidate status).
Brief description role:
This role is to work within the Defence Intelligence Joint User Intelligence and Cyber team. The position is within the Intelligence Policy Team working on Open Source Intelligence (OSINT). The team is responsible for delivering Defences Enterprise OSINT capability setting Defences OSINT policy and overseeing OSINT capability and activity to ensure compliance with policy. Whilst the post is based at RAF Northwood the OSINT team is split between RAF Northwood RAF Wyton and London Main Building as such work for any of these locations is possible. Hybrid homeworking is also possible.
Responsibilities include:
- Working with users to understand their individual OSINT requirements capability gaps and necessary policy permissions to enable activity.
- Cohering requirements identifying and prioritising these across user base and liaising with Defence OSINT Centre to identify potential solutions.
- Setting the OSINT capability direction and ensuring delivery by delivery agents.
- Liaising across CAP sponsors to understand and prioritise OSINT funding measures.
- Liaising across PAG NATO and FVEYs to support the interoperability of OSINT capabilities.
- Investigating users policy exemption requests providing recommendations to OSINT TL in regards to approvals.
