The University of Edinburgh Business School seeks to appoint two Lecturers in Digital Innovation and Artificial Intelligence within its Entrepreneurship and Innovation Group. We are looking for high-quality candidates for these appointments who will contribute to the Groups research and teaching.
Specifically we are looking for candidates with a strong research profile and the skills appropriate to conducting research and to designing and delivering courses in one or more of the following areas: artificial intelligence (AI) for business and organisation digital/AI innovation and innovation management and digital/AI business and transformation. We will consider candidates with specific expertise in the management of AI as a significant element of their scholarship. We welcome applications from those witha disciplinary background in one of the following areas:innovation management information systems and computer science.
Regarding teaching we are looking for candidates with skills appropriate for delivering courses across the undergraduate masters and executive education levels and both on-campus and online. For instance the successful candidates would be expected to contribute to or lead courses on our on-campus new MSc Programme in Artificial Intelligence for Business which starts in September 2026 and/or to our MSc Programme in Entrepreneurship and Innovation and to support the development of our portfolio of AI courses targeting executive education. More broadly we expect these Lecturers to contribute as required to the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Groups current portfolio of undergraduate and postgraduate on-campus and online courses.
The successful candidate will bring a well-defined research agenda demonstrated by at least one publication in a high-quality journal and a commitment to further research activities including participation in international conferences supervision of research students and involvement in grant applications and consultancy projects. This role requires the ability to design and implement instructional courses both online and on-campus for students at various levels and possibly lead in the development of new degree programs. A strong commitment to teaching excellence is essential both in traditional classroom settings and through digital platforms as well as in guiding undergraduate and postgraduate dissertation students. Moreover the candidate should possess the confidence and competence to engage effectively with policy makers practitioners and other relevant non-academic stakeholders.
