Overview
The Manager Purchasing and Pump Management is a hybrid leadership and operational role within the Pump Management and Purchasing team reporting directly to the Sr. Manager of Purchasing and Inventory Management. This position oversees team performance while simultaneously performing hands-on pump management purchasing and inventory responsibilities.
The individual in this role will collaborate extensively with cross-functional partnersincluding Finance Accounting Clinical Operations IT and external business partnersto ensure accurate and timely execution of purchasing and inventory functions. Core responsibilities include managing pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceutical product purchasing overseeing product transfers maintaining inventory accuracy supporting dispensing system updates and reconciling incoming products. This position is responsible for ensuring consistent product availability preventing stock outages and meeting corporate inventory targets for days on hand.
In addition this role oversees pump operations across all branches focusing on developing standardizing and optimizing pump-related practices to improve operational consistency. Key pump-related duties include maintaining accurate pump inventory ensuring timely turnaround of equipment enforcing compliance requirements and training staff accordingly. This role requires strong leadership cross-functional collaboration independent problem-solving and effective use of ordering systems databases and analytical tools to support business needs and drive results.

Responsibilities
- Manages the assigned Purchasing and Inventory Specialist teams performance of responsibilities and provide support across other Trade & Purchasing teams
- Completion of assigned daily product ordering processes for assigned pharmacies utilizing division pharmacy management ordering systems and certain supplier ordering systems within supplier order cutoff times
- Monitors open purchase order report and work with supplier to determine supply issues or delayed delivery
- Utilizes purchasing analytical tools to identify the optimal product quantities to order for the assigned pharmacies to support patient product access and to maintain targeted pharmacy inventory levels
- Identifies excess product inventory situations and work with team members to support product transfers between pharmacies to balance product days on hand across pharmacies
- Timely maintain supplier and product information (e.g. acquisition cost) in pharmacy management system and ordering systems
- Works with suppliers to resolve order and receiving discrepancies and product returns
- Troubleshoot and resolve purchasing specialist team member challenges (i.e. systems suppliers pharmacy etc.) experienced
- Ensures implementation of supplier setup with pharmacy divisions DSCSA service supplier
- Supports training of new employees and coverage for team member and director absence
- Completion of reporting and other assigned responsibilities
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree (preferred)
- 8 years of pharmaceutical purchasing experience (preferred)
- 4 years experience supervising others (preferred)
- Working knowledge Excel Word and Outlook (required) and CPR or other inventory dispensing system experience (preferred)
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (preferred)
- Works well with others
