Sentara Obici Hospital in Suffolk Virginia is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Medical-Surgical Unit with an Oncology Specialty on the Night Shift. About the Unit
The Med-Surg/Oncology Specialty Unit is a 12-bed unit that primarily serves medical-surgical patients while also caring for those receiving oncology treatments. This unit offers a well-rounded clinical experience combining the fast-paced variety of med-surg nursing with the rewarding relationship-based care of oncology. This team is known for its strong sense of teamwork excellent leadership and supportive culture. Nurses on this unit enjoy low patient ratios that allow for focused quality care and a fair every third weekend rotation that provides a healthy balance between work and personal time.
The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment diagnosis outcomes identification planning implementation coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics culturally congruent practice communication collaboration leadership education evidence- based practice /nursing research quality evaluation resource utilization and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.
