Position: Maintenance Technician

Location: USA Neenah Wisconsin

Job Summary:

The Production lead hand is responsible for assisting plant manager to effectively utilize the resources to lead production at the Neenah facility. This role is responsible for ensuring that all the lines are running effectively and to provide support to different line operators and line workers when needed.

Employees may be assigned to perform any task for which they have been qualified. Employees may also be assigned to positions / tasks for which they are working to become qualified as a portion of the training process.

Responsibilities

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Works in conjunction with the Plant Manager to efficiently prioritize team efforts and to assure that quality and shipments are met and data integrity requirements are accomplished.
  • Monitoring the machine operations to see that the finished products and components are aptly matching the quality and quantity constraints of the company.
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by leading by example and assisting manager in monitoring the use of all control points equipment and resources.
  • Teaches guides overseas and organizes employees to complete the preparation of production.
  • Identify issues problems and solutions in areas of safety quality and production.
  • Assists manager in planning the layout of their assigned area.
  • Assist Plant Manager to see that all manufacturing orders are followed through properly to completion.
  • Leads troubleshooting activities facilitating contact and follow-up with support groups such as maintenance.
  • Completes necessary production/labor reports daily.
  • Adheres to trains and helps to enforce compliance with Environmental Health and Safety procedures.
  • Attend duties and projects assigned by Manager.
  • Functions as the Go-To person for the production area product line or function acting as a liaison with and providing feedback to management and all other support groups with respect to the operations.
  • Ensure that all established standards for labor material utilization and product quality are met.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

OE/Lean

  • Acts as resource and champion for department continuous improvement activities.
  • Lead and participate in OE activities like KAIZENs 5S and TPM.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • College diploma High school and/or equivalent
  • 3 years Production experience in a lead role

Knowledge Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong mechanical skills and analytical problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to learn and develop quickly through personal initiative.
  • Organized enthusiastic and self-motivated.
  • Full understanding of MS Office

Working Conditions:

While performing the duties of this job an employee is typically exposed to dust loud noise outside weather conditions and may be exposed to high places. Works alone or as part of a team working in close proximity to others and works in proximity with equipment.

Work Hours:

Must have ability to work the shift/number of hours in which duties need to be accomplished including overtime holidays and weekends as necessary. Where we try to keep overtime to a minimum there are times that it could be required to meet business needs.

Safety Equipment:

Safety equipment is typically required while performing the duties of this job includes a personal lockout/tagout lock ANSI approved hard hat and safety glasses safety boots/shoes with steel toe protection as well as high vis. Additional required equipment includes cut resistant gloves and dust masks when performing task that may require them. Hearing protection is required when performing duties around designated equipment. Additional personal protective equipment is available for use if a situation arises where it becomes required or if it is simply desired by the employee.

Safety Training:

A new employee hired to perform the duties of this position is to be provided with New Employee Training from a qualified individual which consists of MTI onboarding and onsite training. It will include but is not limited to the following: forklift/mobile equipment operation and certification/licensing hazard communication hearing conservation respiratory protection electrical safety lock out/tag out personal protective equipment firefighting/extinguishers machine safety confined spaces reporting of hazardous conditions accidents injuries near-miss and property damage incidents evacuation/emergency procedures first aid back injury prevention and job/work area procedures.

Upon transferring to perform the duties of this position for the first time an employee is to be provided with New Task Training by a qualified individual until the employee adequately understands the contents of the training which include job/work area procedures and related topics. Additionally an employee must be provided with further training if a job duty/task has changes that will affect the health and safety aspects of that employees position.
