Focus of the Role

As a Quality Engineer Test Automation you thrive on working with your team to execute on the overall Software testing strategy helping Telstra to simplify our IT systems strengthen business resilience and ultimately maximise the value we deliver to our customers. You will be engaged to design and optimise testing opportunities within a variety of workstreams and functional areas across the enterprise. Your continuous learning and improvement mindset and collaboration skills are critical to success in this role as you continue to build your knowledge and expertise in more complex test environments.

What Youll Do
Product & Technology - Software Engineering & IT develops and maintains Telstras software and IT systems working on some really cutting-edge technologies.
Build next-level test automation suites for UI APIs and backend services that integrate seamlessly into CI/CD pipelines.
Drive shift-left testing ensuring bugs are caught before they become production nightmares for all of us.
Be a test strategist & automation prooptimize frameworks scale test coverage and make testing faster and smarter across Telstra.
Work side-by-side with developers to bake quality into every stage of the software lifecycletesting isnt a final step its part of our Telstra journey!
Work with developers to design for testability and enable faster feedback loops across application and process.
Analyze test results provide data-driven insights and continuously improve automation strategies to developers.
Stay ahead of the curve by researching and experimenting with cutting-edge testing tools and techniques and implement which suites Telstras quality need.

You have a burning desire to automate everything always looking for ways to eliminate manual effort and optimize processes through codebecause if it can be automated it should be!

About You

• 5-7 years of Experience in UIAPI automation with different frameworks

• Hands on Exp in SVT Jmeter.

• Hands on different tools like Selenium RestAssured PostmanTestNGCucumber

• Drive shift-left testing ensuring bugs are caught before they become production nightmares for all of us.

• Be a test strategist & automation prooptimize frameworks scale test coverage and make testing faster and smarter across Telstra.

• Work side-by-side with developers to bake quality into every stage of the software lifecycletesting isnt a final step its part of our Telstra journey!

• Work with developers to design for testability and enable faster feedback loops across application and process.

• Analyze test results provide data-driven insights and continuously improve automation strategies to developers.

• Stay ahead of the curve by researching and experimenting with cutting-edge testing tools and techniques and implement which suites Telstras quality need

• Testing background in Web & Mobile applications AMDOCS-based systems and Salesforce.

• A continuous learner eager to grow and make an impact.

• A strong communicator both written and verbal.

• Passionate about improving product quality using customer feedback product team interactions and your own intuition.

• Understands the difference between Business Testing and other types of testing.

• Experience working in an Agile environment and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Whatll Give You Bonus Points
Youve run workshops or training to help teams improve their testing game.
Youve worked in telecom (OSS/BSS)
You know a thing or two about security testing mobile automation or contract testing and comfortable talking about those and get hands dirty when needed.
Youve dabbled in AI-driven test automation (or are super keen to learn).
Experience in performance and load testing at scale.
