Responsibilities
Under the direction of an RN or LPN/LVN the Restorative Nursing Assistant (RNA) at Burnett Extended Care Center provides specialized restorative care designed to help residents improve maintain or regain their physical mental and psychosocial functional abilities. Working closely with clinical staff and following individualized resident care plans the RNA supports residents in achieving their highest level of independence and quality of life. This role focuses on sustaining progress after rehabilitation therapy and maximizing functional abilities. The RNA also performs general Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) duties as needed.
Qualifications
Education
High School Diploma High School Equivalency (HSE) or Completion of a CHS Approved Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Certificate required
Completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant training program required
Completion of a restorative nursing training program within 90 days of hire required
Experience
1 year of experience as a CNA in long-term care required
Restorative nursing experience in a skilled nursing facility rehabilitation center or long-term care setting preferred
Licenses and Certifications
CNA - State of California Certified Nursing Assistant Certification required
BLS - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers by American Heart Association (AHA) required
