Position Overview The Assistant General Manager / Director of Sales supports the overall operation of the hotel by overseeing front office functions enhancing guest satisfaction and driving revenue growth through sales and relationship development. This role combines operational leadership with sales strategy and requires strong supervisory communication and customer service skills.
Key Responsibilities Hotel Operations & Team Leadership -
Supervise and coordinate front office staff to ensure smooth daily operations

Support the Manager in staff training programs seminars and ongoing development

Participate in employee meetings and assist with interviewing and hiring front desk staff
-
Delegate responsibilities and train Guest Service Agents (GSA) in all front desk procedures
-
Coordinate front desk operations with housekeeping and maintenance teams
-
Maintain working knowledge of all hotel departments and staff roles
-
Follow and enforce emergency procedures and safety protocols
Guest Experience & Service Quality -
Ensure guests are treated professionally courteously and efficiently
-
Resolve guest complaints and service issues in a timely manner
-
Monitor guest feedback and contribute to improving service scores
-
Interact with guests to ensure satisfaction throughout their stay

Work as part of the leadership team to maintain high guest service standards
Administrative & Front Desk Duties -
Review daily arrival reports and verify guest folio preparation

Ensure accurate front desk documentation and communication
-
Assist with operational reporting as needed
Sales & Business Development -
Develop and maintain relationships with existing accounts
-
Solicit new business opportunities and partnerships
-
Collaborate with management on sales initiatives and marketing strategies
-
Participate in sales outreach and promotional activities
-
Assist with organizing sales blitz campaigns
-
Attend networking industry and community meetings when required
-
Respond to group and travel agent inquiries regarding rooms and rates
Additional Responsibilities Qualifications & Skills -
Prior hotel operations and/or supervisory experience required

Strong leadership and team management abilities

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to delegate tasks and take ownership of responsibilities
