Job Summary

    POSITION SUMMARY/CLASS DESCRIPTION

    BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
    Provide swimming lesson instruction.

    DUTIES:

    • Provide swimming lesson instruction for various skill levels.
    • Must be willing to work as a lifeguard if certified when needed.
    SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
    Possess the following Red Cross certifications:
    Water Safety Instructor (WSI)
    First Aid
    CPR for the Professional Rescuer

    Additional qualifications/skills:
    • Must be at least 17 years of age.
    • Willing to accept responsibility.
    • Display leadership abilities and be able to delegate duties and responsibilities.
    • Be responsible for all records (attendance accident reports scheduling).
    • Must teach Red Cross swim lessons.
    • Must be trained in the use of AED.
    EXPERIENCE:
    Previous experience working with children.

    EDUCATION:
    Attending high school or college.

    RATE OF PAY:
    Contingent - Paraprofessional
    $16.50-$20.50 per hour depending on experience.
