| Clients conducts testing of vehicles on public roads to gain insights into customer experiences while operating their vehicles. These test vehicles are primarily based in Southeast Michigan but also operate in extreme environments throughout the year. We are seeking someone to support this activity by ensuring that drivers are at their designated locations according to an established schedule and that they are working in a safe environment. | This job requires someone who can | | Create update and manage vehicle-driver shift schedules to achieve test objectives. | | Meet with drivers each day before their shift to identify concerns with their ability to drive safely and support any vehicle schedule changes. | | Monitor weather and road conditions daily. Adjust schedule accordingly. | | Track and report near-misses from drivers report trends and adjust routes to reduce risks. | | Conduct weekly driver safety meeting and trip kick-off meetings including preparing agenda and making presentation material. | | Review in-car camera footage and coach drivers to ensure highest levels of safety manage subscription including invoice and payment. | | Train new drivers including overall process safe driving practices component cycles and how to use Lscreen database / TEAMS for shift data entry . | | Give safety training to new drivers and update material based on near misses on the job. | | Driving instructor for primary license for new drivers. | | Book travel arrangements for drivers when traveling. | | Conduct risk assessments for all routes. | | Maintain routes on ride with gps. | | Manage and track hardware (tablets smartphones cameras memory cards). | | Other administration responsibilities as needed or requested. | |
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Professional degree
Valid drivers license
Proven record of safe driving
Can display and instruct safe driving behavior
Can successfully pass Toyota Middle Class License training
Leadership experience or experience with balancing work load of others
Proficiency using MS Excel PowerPoint Word
NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Create update and manage vehicle-driver shift schedules to achieve test objectives.
Clear verbal and written communication
Excellent presentation skills including preparing presentation material.
Excellent organization and attention to detail.
Managing and avoiding conflict with ability to remain professional and achieve objectives.
Interest and comfort in working with technology (computer dash camera tablets database gps etc)
Understanding that scheduling may change at a moments notice requiring re-work to achieve test objectives.
Comfortable managing multiple tasks simultaneously
Effective time management to consistently complete tasks
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Consistent work schedule 7am-4pm (1 hour lunch)
Some overtime can be expected. 5-10% annually
Some travel is needed to conduct route assessments before we drive in new locations
Travel approximately 5 times a year up to one week at a time
Typical travel locations include but not limited to Colorado California Minnesota Nevada Arizona Pennsylvania
