Microns Global Engineering Labs (GEL) develops deploys and supports software/firmware solutions that power lab operations test automation data management and engineering workflows across our global footprint. We focus on delivering high-quality scalable tools that create business value while minimizing defects downtime and performance risks.
Position Overview
As a Software Development Engineer Intern you will configure develop maintain and support Micron and thirdparty applications throughout the full software development process. You will design and deliver solutionsincluding web apps data interfaces test automation frameworks GUIs and results archivingthat connect tools and data stores streamline processes and improve lab efficiency. You will be expected to keep projects current with industry-standard methodologies and update workflows to align with evolving technologies.
Responsibilities
- Design develop debug maintain and deploy software/firmware solutions in support of GEL activities.
- Build webbased tools for data entry analysis tracking dashboards and asset/capital management.
- Develop interfaces to connect tools equipment and data storage locations; create oneoff solutions for unique engineering problems.
- Implement and extend test automation frameworks; design robust results storage and archiving mechanisms.
- Evaluate solution effectiveness using clear criteria (maintenance requirements delivery timelines customer satisfaction).
- Represent GEL in multi-functional projects; coordinate deployments standards priorities and timelines.
- Follow broad direction to identify constraints propose options and deliver highquality solutions.
- Train and mentor team members; share knowledge to raise competency and consistency.

Minimum Qualifications
- Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g. Python JavaScript/TypeScript C# or Java) and ability to switch between technologies as needed.
- Experience across the SDLC: requirements/specification analysis design implementation testing deployment and maintenance.
- Familiarity with version control CI/CD workflows and issue tracking systems.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver quality software with attention to reliability performance and defect prevention.
- Strong communication skills and problemsolving ability within defined policies and practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building web applications (front end and/or back end) RESTful APIs and data pipelines.
- Knowledge of test automation frameworks and standard methodologies; experience working with lab equipment integration is a plus.
- Handson with databases (schema design querying and archiving) and dashboarding/visualization tools.
- Experience deploying applications to cloud or onprem environments; familiarity with monitoring/observability.
- Prior work in engineering lab contexts or manufacturingadjacent software solutions.
