Job Duties:

This position provides organizational administrative clerical and bookkeeping support for the Aber Suzuki Center and the American Suzuki Institute in support of the goals of the programs under general supervision.

Hours: 1 PM - 6 PM academic year (FTE: .63); June and July full time including some weekends as needed.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Serves as a first point of contact for individuals and groups provides basic organizational information via phone in person and through other communication mediums and routes more complex inquiries to the appropriate entities
  • Schedules logistics and secures resources for meetings conferences travel and work unit operations
  • Maintains established methods and organizational systems directed at the maintenance of electronic/physical records related to work operations according to established policies and procedures
  • Sends receives copies and distributes communications to the appropriate entities according to established policies and procedures under general supervision
  • Collects analyzes and prepares various communication materials from established sources utilizing technology mediums

Department:

The Suzuki Programs (Aber Suzuki Center and American Suzuki Institute) at UWSP offer private and group music instruction to adults and children of all ages. The Center serves 230 students and provides a strong tie with the community of Stevens Point this extends to many surrounding communities in Central Wisconsin. The American Suzuki Institute is a 2-week summer camp held in July which has an international draw and reputation it serves over 300 students from 35 states and 6 countries. It holds the designation of being the first summer institute outside of Japan. Some families have attended the Institute for 2 or 3 generations.

Compensation:

$17.50-18.00/hour based on qualifications and experience

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience with various types of computer software and the willingness and ability to learn new programs

  • Experience with financial records or bookkeeping.

  • Ability to both work as part of a team and to work independently on assigned projects

  • Ability to manage varied tasks and meet timelines.

  • Ability to change direction when needed to accomplish a project.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Workday and/or other University processes
