This recruitment is being used to fill a Software Development Intern position within KCPAOs Information Technology Support Services (ITSS) team.

Are you an undergraduate student interested in software engineering or pursuing a career in software development The King County Prosecuting Attorneys Office (PAO) Information Technology Support Services (ITSS) team is looking for a motivated Software Development Intern to contribute to our core application development projects. You will work directly with Senior Software Engineers receiving mentorship and guidance throughout the full development lifecycle. This is a unique opportunity to gain professional experience within the Microsoft and Azure cloud ecosystem while making significant impacts in your community!

Who May Apply:Currently enrolled Bachelors/Associates level studies at an accredited university/college through Spring quarter of 2026. Proof of enrollment status is required upon hire. Interns must commit to working for at least for six months.

Work Location: Downtown Seattle in King County WA

Union Representation:This position is not represented by a labor union.

Salary: Range 26-- $21.21 hourly

Work Schedule: Our office is open Monday Friday from 8:00 am 5:00 pm. Interns may work up to 12 hours per week during the school year and up to 20 hours per week during the summer break.

Selection Process:

Please note this position is not eligible for King County leave holiday health benefits or other benefits. Job Duties

Job duties will focus on contributing to the ITSS teams technical roadmap and may vary based on assigned project needs. These responsibilities are designed for hands-on technical learning:

  • Assist senior developers with coding debugging and testing application enhancements primarily in the C# Core framework.
  • Contribute to the front-end development and maintenance of web applications using HTML CSS and modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g. React/Angular).
  • Participate in the software development lifecycle including daily stand-ups and code reviews following Agile and DevOps practices utilizing version control systems such as Git/Azure DevOps for collaborative project work and contributing to Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipeline processes.
  • Support the integration configuration and minor enhancement of software solutions using Microsoft Azure cloud services SharePoint and Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps Power Automate Dynamics 365) to assist with enhancing office-wide operational solutions.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and application guides.
  • Provide support for the Race Equity and Social Justice policy and principles and work with colleagues to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Other job duties as assigned by the team.

Technical Knowledge & Experience

  • Completed coursework in introductory programming data structures and algorithms (or equivalent personal project experience).
  • Familiarity with the concepts of relational data storage.
  • Exposure to Microsoft Power Platform (e.g. Power Apps Power Automate) or Dynamics 365 concepts is desirable.
  • Exposure to the Microsoft development stack (e.g. Visual Studio C#) is a plus.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office programs including Outlook and Word.
