QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree in Early Childhood or Child Development with 10-years of experience in Early Childhood or Masters degree in Early Childhood or Child Development preferred with at least 5 years of experience in Early Childhood.
- Five years successful instructional experience in a preschool setting with preference given to candidates who have teaching experience and in providing instruction in an inclusive setting.
- Yearly CPR/AED and first aid certification.
- Experience implementing High Scope and Conscious Discipline.
- Strong content knowledge in the history data and practices related to preschool inclusion.
- Demonstrated history of building collaborative professional relationships with adult learners and experience in developing structures to support the competencies of various stakeholders.
- Preference given to candidates with experience in developing/facilitating professional learning and developing procedures to sustain learning through professional learning communities classroom learning labs and/or other forms of collaboration.
- Knowledge of and experience in continuous improvement cycle.
- Specialized knowledge of child development; infant and early childhood mental health; an understanding of the impacts of trauma/stressors on child development and mental/behavioral health; and understand how issues such as implicit bias and racial inequity impact the quality of care that children can receive.
- Must be able to lift 30 pounds.
- Required to have a physical presence at the designated job site each scheduled work day.
- Must have regular and reliable job attendance performance and the physical ability to do the job.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise all ISD GSRP classroom staff including Lead Teachers Associate Teachers and Lunch relief.
- Conduct staff evaluations per guidance from Human Resources.
- Conduct regular staff meetings with all ISD GSRP classroom staff.
- Physical presence in all ISD operated sites at least biweekly and more as needed.
- Coordination of staff services to support needs of children including behavioral supports.
- Serve as role as licensee designee including all licensing requirements.
- Support daily operation needs for all ISD operated sites:
-Material needs
-Transportation
-Food Service
-Substitute coverage
-Skyward approvals
-Fingerprinting Management
-MICR
-Weekly Communicable Disease Reporting
-Accident/incident reporting
-Licensing visits
- Collaborate with classroom staff to fully participate in the Great Start to Quality Improvement System.
- Lead efforts for full enrollment at each GSRP site in collaboration with classroom staff and participate in coordinated countywide efforts to recruit and enroll children in preschool.
- Demonstrate knowledge and expertise of the Early Childhood Standards of Quality for Pre-kindergarten child development preschool curricula child assessment and screening tools adult learning styles cultural diversity county-wide early childhood programs and quality improvement.
- Provide written and verbal feedback to program staff throughout the year to promote program improvement as per GSRP implementation manual.
- Assist with curriculum and assessment planning and implementation.
- Facilitate the development of meaningful child improvement goals and objectives with each unique teaching team through the coaching cycle and professional learning.
- Plan and deliver early childhood professional development and training experiences for GSRP teaching teams based on identified classroom needs.
- Communicate and demonstrate researched-based instructional practices that result in increased student performance within inclusive preschool setting.
- Embrace system and belief change productively and support others through the change process.
- Develop and sustain a continuous improvement process that involves analyzing and synthesizing data to inform decisions.
- Demonstrate an understanding and ability to communicate the scoring practice and results of the Inclusive Classroom Profile (ICP).
- Develop and maintain a system for collecting analyzing and communicating data over time.
- Performance resulting in improved inclusive opportunities and practices surrounding preschool inclusion.
- Create positive relationships with and serve as a liaison between the St. Joseph County ISD local school districts and early childhood community stakeholders.
- Demonstrate knowledge of GSRP requirements policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate professional improvement through in-service attendance CEUs or college credit SCECHS conference attendance and reading professional literature.
- Support GSRP program staff with ongoing regular technical assistance to ensure grant compliance and high-quality programming.
- Collaborate with Great Start to Quality Resource Center staff as it relates to the work of supporting GSRP classroom staff to comply with State guidelines.
- Assist the Director of Early Childhood Services with projects on an as needed basis.
- Maintain appropriate records.
- Use universal precautions at all times for personal health and safety.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the St. Joseph County Intermediate School District Administrators.
