About the role
Provide and actively contribute to improving culturally sensitive alcohol and other drug counselling treatment and care coordination for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
Work as a Counsellor primarily in the Stimulant Treatment Program & Gorman Unit withdrawal service
Conduct a range of clinical interventions including psychosocial assessments brief interventions and ongoing therapeutic counselling and case management
Ensure the provision of appropriate high-quality treatment including developing client-centred care plans and collecting outcome measures
Build and maintain effective relationships with Aboriginal community organisations and the St Vincents Aboriginal healthcare community and workforce
About you
A compassionate and skilled Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Allied Health professional
Genuinely commitment to making a positive difference
Counselling Social Work Psychology qualifications and/or relevant experience in Drug and Alcohol and/or similar
