Senior Originator

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Commercial Energy Specialist to join a leading IPP. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of our renewable energy portfolio. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in identifying negotiating and executing commercial energy transactions while driving market strategies and fostering strong stakeholder relationships.

What Youll Do

Origination

• Identify define develop select negotiate and execute long-term structured agreements.
• Develop new counterparty relationships to facilitate trading opportunities including Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and manage existing counterparty relationships.
• Prepare board papers and executive briefings to support internal investment approval processes.

Market Strategy

• Analyse and interpret electricity and environmental market trends to develop and execute investment and trading strategies that optimise commercial outcomes.
• Provide market insights across the business including asset development operations and construction teams.
• Represent the organisation at external events industry forums and client engagements to build the companys presence and reputation in the market.

Compliance and Standards

• Actively engage with stakeholders to ensure adherence to relevant legislation regulations standards and company policies.
• Stay informed of changes in compliance requirements and foster a culture of continuous improvement to drive positive outcomes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with compliance and regulatory requirements.

What youll bring

We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications experience and attributes:

• A minimum of 7 years experience in commercial negotiations of energy products electricity and environmental market trading.
• Proven track record of executing and closing complex commercial energy transactions such as PPAs.
• Deep understanding of electricity markets renewable energy projects and contract structures.
• Exposure to energy risk with the ability to evaluate and articulate risks/returns of various deal structures.
• Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks prioritise effectively and thrive in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to develop and maintain senior-level relationships and deliver impactful presentations.
