Job Advertisement: Senior PPA Origination Specialist

Overview

We are a dynamic and rapidly growing renewable energy company that entered the Australian market in 2018. Since then we have transitioned into an Independent Power Producer (IPP) with a diverse portfolio that includes solar battery energy storage systems (BESS) wind and pumped hydro projects.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior PPA Origination Specialist to join our team. This role is critical to our success as we continue to grow and deliver on our ambitious renewable energy goals.

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) process including bids negotiations and successful closures.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including corporate offtakers utilities and other market participants.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the renewable energy market including mergers acquisitions and joint ventures.
• Collaborate with internal teams including EPC operations and trading to ensure seamless project execution and delivery.
• Represent the company in the market maintaining a strong presence and fostering trust and credibility with partners and stakeholders.
• Provide strategic input to the origination function and contribute to the overall growth and success of the business.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading the end-to-end PPA process including bids negotiations and closures.
• Demonstrated success in closing PPAs and a strong track record in the renewable energy sector.
• Excellent market presence and established relationships with key stakeholders in the energy industry.
• Strong commercial acumen and the ability to identify and capitalize on business opportunities.
• Exceptional communication negotiation and interpersonal skills.
• A collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in a flat organizational structure.
• A commitment to aligning with and contributing to our company culture.

Day-to-Day

• Engage with potential offtakers and stakeholders to identify and secure PPA opportunities.
• Lead negotiations and manage the PPA process from inception to closure.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment and successful project execution.
• Monitor market trends and identify opportunities for growth and expansion.
• Represent the company at industry events and maintain a strong presence in the renewable energy market.
• Provide regular updates and insights to the board and senior leadership team.
