The University Engagement Office (UEO) is established with the primary objective of enhancing the Universitys engagement with stakeholders of the community and strengthening its brand. The Office takes charge of engaging both internal and external stakeholders managing university-wide events and marketing initiatives and handling Chinese Mainland affairs.
The Office is now inviting applications for the following position:
Senior Manager (Chinese Mainland Affairs Focused)()
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the formulation execution and review of the Universitys comprehensive strategies and initiatives for engagement and communication in the Chinese Mainland;
- Develop strong relationships and explore and foster academic exchanges and collaborations with counterparts in the Chinese Mainland including but not limited to government departments universities and industries;
- Plan coordinate and execute University-wide marketing and engagement campaigns in the Chinese Mainland;
- Closely connect with the Universitys internal parties to better understand the latest news and developments for the development of collaboration and engagement initiative;
- Assist in the preparation negotiation and review of agreements between the University and Chinese Mainland partner institutions;
- Support the supervision of the Offices operations as well as those of HKBUs branch offices in the Chinese Mainland;
- Perform any other duties as assigned; and
- Occasional travel to the Chinese Mainland may be required.
Requirements:
- A recognised masters degree in Communications Business Administration or a related discipline;
- At least 10 years of relevant work experience including a minimum of 5 years in a supervisory role; experience in the tertiary education sector is preferred;
- A profound understanding of both Hong Kong and Chinese Mainland contexts;
- Established networks and connections with Chinese Mainland government bodies universities and industries;
- Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese including Cantonese and Putonghua;
- Strong interpersonal communication organisational management leadership and strategic planning skills;
- A confident and forward-thinking leader with the ability to build a strong motivated team;
- Able to multitask effectively work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines; and
- Proficient computer skills.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written test and an interview.
The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of two years. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to performance review and mutual agreement.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
