Job Summary

POSITION: Human Resources Director

COMPENSATION: Pursuant to Colorado regulations if this job is performed in Colorado the salary range is $125000 - $138000 plus bonus potential. âEligible to participate in the company benefits plan. REPORTS TO: VP People & Culture

SUMMARY:

The HR Director serves as the senior HR leader responsible for directing all Human Resources functions in a fast-paced high-growth environment. This role requires a highly analytical strategic leader with deep functional and technical knowledge of HR processing and coding within HRIS platforms. The Director will drive strategic initiatives ensure strict compliance (ER FLSA CA labor laws) lead the development of high-impact onboarding programs and lead a dedicated hands-on HR team of four professionals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (including but not limited to):

HR Technology Strategy & Processing

  • Deep HRIS Knowledge: Serve as the strategic expert for all core HR processes and data coding. Must possess deep functional and technical knowledge of how HR processing (e.g. job changes compensation termination) is coded and managed within the HRIS environment.

  • System Leadership: Lead and manage the optimization integration and potential full implementation of the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) with direct hands-on experience using and optimizing UKG (UltiPro Kronos or Workforce Ready) platforms preferred.

  • Agentic AI Leadership: Lead the integration and governance of the Agentic AI Team Member defining use cases standardizing workflow hand-offs and ensuring the AI tool enhances the teams efficiency in areas like reporting and initial processing.

  • Data & Reporting: Leverage HRIS capabilities to generate advanced workforce analytics compensation reports and compliance data necessary for strategic decision-making.

Strategic Compliance & Risk Mitigation

  • FLSA Expertise: Act as the internal expert on Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) compliance specifically focusing on complex issues related to proper exempt/non-exempt classification and accurate wage-and-hour tracking across multi-state operations.

  • CA Labor Law: Ensure strict adherence to Californias complex state and local labor regulations including wage and hour laws protected leaves (e.g. CFRA PDL) and termination procedures.

  • Employee Relations (ER): Oversee and personally manage complex high-risk employee relations cases conducting thorough investigations advising leadership on disciplinary actions and implementing conflict resolution strategies.

  • Policy and Practice: Develop interpret and implement best-in-class HR policies procedures and documentation to minimize exposure to litigation and ensure fair consistent practices.

Team Leadership & Talent Integration

  • Team Leadership: Lead mentor and coach a dedicated HR team of four professionals fostering a highly collaborative and customer-service-oriented environment and ensuring the team delivers cohesive cross-functional HR support.

  • Hands-on Support: Acts as a hands-on willing participant in all HR operations modeling a team player approach by providing direct support to the team and stepping in to handle high-volume operational tasks as needed.

  • Onboarding Strategy: Design develop and own the organizations comprehensive onboarding program for all new hires ensuring a consistent engaging and fast integration into the company culture and performance expectations.

  • Training Delivery: Design and deliver mandatory training programs for managers and employees on critical topics including FLSA compliance performance management and workplace conduct.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS:

  • 8 years of progressive experience in HR with at least 3 years in a Director-level or senior management capacity

  • Mandatory: Deep functional and technical knowledge of HR processing and coding within a major HRIS environment.

  • Proven success leading an HRIS implementation or major upgrade with direct hands-on experience using and optimizing UKG platforms.

  • Proven success leading the design and execution of strategic high-impact new hire onboarding programs.

  • Deep expertise in managing FLSA and Wage & Hour compliance for a multi-state organization.

  • Proven ability to lead mentor and scale an HR team in a fast-paced high-volume environment.

EDUCATION

Bachelors degree in Human Resources Business Administration or a related field.

Preferred: SPHR-CA PHR-CA or SHRM-SCP certification.

Overnight travel required to facilitate sessions or lead as well as attend training property visits and other situations necessary for the accomplishment of special projects that may be assigned from time to time but no more than 15%.
