We are currently hiring a CNM 1 - Ortho and Surgical for a reputed hospital in Cork Ireland.

Responsibilities
Provide clinical and managerial leadership for the Orthopaedic & Surgical unit.
Ensure delivery of high-quality patient-centred nursing care in line with hospital policies and professional standards.
Coordinate and supervise daily ward activities including staff allocation rostering and workload management.
Lead support and evaluate nursing staff performance; facilitate mentoring coaching and professional development.
Ensure effective implementation of infection prevention patient safety and risk management practices.
Oversee admission discharge and transfer processes to ensure continuity of care.
Liaise effectively with multidisciplinary teams including surgeons anaesthetists physiotherapists and other allied health professionals.
Monitor and manage clinical resources equipment and supplies efficiently.
Ensure accurate documentation audits and compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and service development within the unit.
Requirements
Registered Nurse with current registration with the relevant Nursing Board (e.g. NMBI or equivalent).
Minimum of 35 years post-registration clinical experience with significant experience in Orthopaedics and/or Surgical nursing.
All applicants must have experience working in an acute hospital setting.
Nurses must have experience in the relevant clinical areas to be suitable for these wards.
Flexibility to work across days nights and weekends is essential.
Previous leadership or supervisory experience (e.g. CNM 2 Senior Staff Nurse or acting CNM role).
Demonstrated competence in clinical decision-making and patient management in acute care settings.
Strong communication organisational and leadership skills.
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Knowledge of infection control standards clinical governance and quality assurance processes.
Evidence of ongoing professional development; postgraduate qualification in nursing/management is desirable.
