Job Overview:

As a Junior Data Engineer you will be responsible for supporting our data engineering team in the design development and maintenance of our data systems. You will work closely with senior data engineers data scientists and other stakeholders to ensure the smooth operation and performance of our data infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the development and maintenance of data pipelines and ETL processes.
• Work with various data storage solutions including relational databases like PostgreSQL and non-relational databases.
• Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to understand data requirements and ensure data quality and integrity.
• Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline issues to ensure timely data availability.
• Participate in the design and implementation of data models and data warehouses.
• Support data integration and migration projects.
• Document data engineering processes and procedures.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering Information Technology or a related field.
• 1-2 years of experience in data engineering or a related role.
• Proficiency in Python for data processing and automation.
• Experience with SQL and database management particularly PostgreSQL.
• Familiarity with ETL tools and data pipeline frameworks.
• Understanding of data warehousing concepts and data modeling.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS is required.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with Elasticsearch.
• Knowledge of big data technologies (e.g. Hadoop Spark).
• Familiarity with containerization tools (e.g. Docker) and orchestration tools (e.g. Kubernetes).
• Experience with version control systems (e.g. Git).
• Understanding of data security and privacy practices.
• Ability to join early and quickly integrate into the team.
