Job Summary
Senior Database Administrator Based in Athens
We are looking forward for a talented person to join our IT team as a Senior Database Administrator. The candidate will be responsible for monitoring installing configuring and managing the databases (Oracle and PostgreSQL) that all live services are using. A good cooperation with all departments involved is essential in order to maximize the efficiency and achieve a fast smooth and stable database performance.
Responsibilities
- Support multiple servers and multiple databases of high complexity with multiple concurrent users ensuring control integrityandaccessibility of the data
- Participate in and potentially lead the development of solutions to a variety of difficult engineering issues requiringfullgrasp of a broad range of database engineering principles
- Install and configureOracledatabase and Oracle RAC (Oracle Linux environments)
- Implement RMAN backup and recovery procedures
- Install and configure PostgreSQL database
- Performance monitoring
- Perform database capacity planning
- Database QueryandApplication performance analysis tuning and optimization
- Performs database re-organization as required to assist performance and ensure maximum uptime of the database.
- Assists with impact analysis of any changes made to the database objects
- Provides support for application automated processes
The ideal candidate will have
- A BA/BSc Degree or similar computer/engineering/ Information System Engineering degree
- Postgraduate degree will be considered as an asset
- In depthexperience as an expert in Oracle PostgreSQL and Oracle RACconcepts/internals
- Understanding of solutions to be implemented for large databases on Linux environments
- Experience in Database Warehouse partitioning PL/SQL coding skills
