Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Commis I specializing in Continental Cuisine to join our culinary team at ibis Styles Mysuru India. As an entry-level position this role offers an excellent opportunity for aspiring chefs to gain hands-on experience in a professional kitchen environment while honing their skills in Continental cuisine.

  • Assist in the preparation of ingredients for Continental dishes including washing peeling chopping and portioning
  • Support senior chefs in the execution of menu items following recipes and plating instructions
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation adhering to food safety and hygiene standards
  • Operate and maintain kitchen equipment ensuring proper use and cleanliness
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth service operations and timely food delivery
  • Assist in inventory management and stock rotation
  • Participate in daily kitchen briefings and contribute ideas for menu improvements
  • Learn and apply culinary techniques specific to Continental cuisine

Qualifications :

  • Culinary diploma or equivalent qualification in culinary arts
  • Food safety certification
  • Basic knowledge of Continental cuisine and culinary techniques
  • Proficiency in knife skills and food preparation methods
  • Understanding of kitchen equipment operation and maintenance
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accurately
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items when necessary
  • Willingness to learn and grow in the culinary field
  • Previous internship or apprenticeship in a professional kitchen is preferred but not required
