A vacancy has arisen for a RAF Sergeant (Any Profession) to serve as a Careers Engagement (CE) Team member in the CE North Area (AFCO Liverpool) on FTRS (LC) Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS) with an initial proposed start date of 04 May 2026 (or earlier/later subject to candidate status and position becoming vacant).
Job Description
Careers Engagement staff are directly responsible for planning executing and assessing Recruitment and Selection (R&S) interaction with groups or individuals who are eligible to join the RAF or may do so in the future. The main bulk of this task is carried out in Education Establishments (EEs): schools colleges and universities in the North Area. The SNCO CE will be required to attend careers fairs apprenticeship events graduate recruitment fairs and at each provide a positive message about the RAF as a career of choice. Often this interaction will involve giving presentations to large or small audiences as well as conducting one-to-one careers advice interviews with students and young people interested in applying to the RAF. On occasions the message may be delivered during Personal Development Training (PDT) or assisting STEM Ambassadors at STEM events.
In addition to the work with EEs CE staff are required to build and maintain links with the RAFAC in the North Area from liaison with Wg staff to delivering careers sessions at individual Squadrons. CE staff are further required to identify and develop working relationships with other youth organisations and education partnerships where the RAF can work with pre-eligible or eligible individuals and groups. This is particularly important in groups where the demographic is under- represented in the RAF.
