Position Overview:

L3Harris is currently seeking a Chief Engineer for the Next Generation Jammer (NGJ) Program. This Position will be based in Salt Lake City Utah. The NGJ Chief Engineer will be responsible and accountable for all Program engineering technical cost and schedule performance.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Build lead and manage a cross-functional engineering team consisting of mechanical electrical systems and software engineers to ensure ongoing advancement of the program.
• Technical cost and schedule accountability for technical program execution. Manage contract change and all phases of the portfolio from capture to sustaining.
• Maintain a climate of fostering a high level of employee motivation performance and commitment.
• Review and approve estimate to complete (ETCs) of the engineering content of the program.
• Represent engineering with major customers and stakeholders through clear communication.
• Conduct trade studies to compare different hardware design options and select the most appropriate solutions.
• Perform critical analyses of subcomponents to identify potential issues and ensure optimal performance.
• Provide guidance and support to achieve project goals including preliminary design integration and formal hardware/software qualification.
• Oversee CAM activities including budgeting scheduling and resource allocation for the program.
• Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of hardware sub-assemblies and software.
• Develop and maintain documentation related to system design analysis and testing.
• Participate in design reviews technical meetings and project planning sessions.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards regulations and best practices.
• Lead technical staff members to resolve issues.
• Support new business pursuits and proposal cost reviews to ensure proper technology readiness Design to Cost and resource alignment.
• Communicates within and outside of the organization to explain and influence changes to practices processes and approaches.
• Office-based with occasional travel to project sites or meetings as required.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree in Engineering and a minimum of 15 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree in Engineering and a minimum of 13 years of prior related lieu of a degree minimum of 19 years of prior related experience.
• Active Secret Security Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience leading development and integration test teams.
• Electronic Warfare or Sensor signal processing experience.
• Agile software development leadership experience.
• Software or Hardware Description Language (HDL) design and development experience.
• Earned Value Management experience in both budgeting and schedule planning.
• Model-based design experience preferably with SysML using Cameo Systems Modeler.
• Active DoD Top Secret clearance.
