Position Overview:

The Ansible Engineer will support the migration of a large scale Ansible Automation Platform environment from an RPM based deployment to an OpenShift based architecture. This role focuses on discovery architecture design migration execution and configuration using Red Hat recommended practices across multiple enterprise environments.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in discovery and architecture design sessions to assess the current state Ansible Automation Platform environment across multiple clusters including development testing and production
• Review and document existing automation mesh topology multi region configuration and integration points
• Define the target state OpenShift based Ansible Automation Platform architecture including Controller Hub and Event Driven Ansible components
• Perform gap analysis between the current RPM based platform and the target OpenShift architecture with attention to security and sensitive data handling
• Develop and execute a detailed migration runbook and phased deployment plan
• Deploy OpenShift based Ansible Automation Platform following Red Hat best practices
• Configure automation mesh nodes and distributed execution architecture
• Migrate PostgreSQL data from existing environments to OpenShift based deployments
• Configure role based access control credential management and integrations with identity and inventory systems
• Validate migrated templates workflows and inventory configurations
• Develop configuration as code to support ongoing platform lifecycle management
• Contribute to as built documentation operational runbooks and knowledge transfer sessions Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

• Three or more years of hands on experience with Ansible Automation Platform or Ansible Tower
• Experience deploying and configuring Ansible Automation Platform on OpenShift
• Strong understanding of Ansible Automation Platform architecture including Controller Hub and Event Driven Ansible
• Experience designing and supporting automation mesh with distributed or multi region execution
• Experience migrating Ansible Automation Platform environments including PostgreSQL database migration
• Proficiency writing and maintaining Ansible playbooks roles and collections
• Experience configuring role based access control credentials and inventory management
• Familiarity with continuous integration and delivery tooling and integrating pipelines with Ansible Automation Platform
• Experience using configuration as code approaches for platform lifecycle management

Comfort working in enterprise scale and regulated environments

Desired Qualifications:

• Red Hat Certified Specialist in Ansible Automation or equivalent Red Hat certification
• Experience administering OpenShift or Kubernetes beyond Ansible Automation Platform deployment
• Familiarity with Event Driven Ansible
• Experience with code quality tools such as ansible lint or molecule

Experience integrating with enterprise identity systems such as Active Directory or LDAP

• Strong documentation skills including creation of runbooks as built documentation and architecture diagrams
