Workshop Manager Landing Gear
About the Role:
Overseeing the maintenance repair and overhaul (MRO) operations of the landing gear systems.
Responsibilities:
- Implement approved policies and procedures and ensure adherence with the processes so that work is carried out in a controlled manner
- Implement the daytoday operations assigned for the area of work to ensure compliance with the established standards and procedures
- Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance programs for the organizations landing gear systems
- Oversee the daytoday operations of the landing gear maintenance team including scheduling resource allocation and workflow management
- Analyze maintenance data and identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce downtime
- Collaborate with the engineering team to address any technical issues or design concerns related to landing gear systems
- Maintain a deep understanding of the design functionality and operational requirements of the organizations landing gear systems
- Provide technical guidance and support to the maintenance team ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively
- Ensure that all landing gear maintenance activities are conducted in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements industry standards and the organizations quality management system
- Develop and implement quality control measures including inspection protocols and testing procedures to verify the integrity and airworthiness of the landing gear systems
- Liaise with regulatory authorities and industry partners to maintain compliance with all relevant safety and airworthiness regulations
- Investigate and address any qualityrelated issues or nonconformances in a timely and effective manner
- Provide regular updates and reports to the Director of Operations on the performance challenges and improvement initiatives related to the landing gear maintenance operations
- Communicate effectively with the maintenance team engineers and other relevant personnel to ensure smooth coordination and information sharing
- Oversee the procurement and inventory management of landing gear components tools and equipment to support maintenance activities
- Manage the recruitment training and performance of the landing gear maintenance team
- Comply with all relevant safety and environmental management policies procedures and controls to ensure a healthy and safe work environment
Experience:
- A minimum of 810 years Maintenance experience in the landing gear shop 3 years should be in managing / supervising a Landing Gear Overhaul shop.
Education:
- Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering or an engineering specialist field.
