A leading independent day school in Oxford is seeking a PE Teacher to join them on a full-time permanent contract from January 2026. The school welcomes applications from experienced PE Teachers and strong ECTs particularly those with coaching qualifications in popular school sports.

This respected co-educational independent school educates 1000 pupils aged 1118 and maintains an excellent reputation for academic strength pastoral care and elite sporting achievement. The PE department is housed within a newly refurbished sports complex featuring a multi-sport indoor arena fitness suite climbing wall dance studio astroturf pitches sports science lab and extensive playing fields. Students regularly compete at county and national level in athletics hockey rugby swimming and netball.
Co-curricular participation is a major strength with pupils engaging in clubs fixtures inter-house competitions sports tours and specialist coaching sessions.
Experience and Qualifications
Degree in PE Sport Science or related field
QTS/PGCE desirable (independent schools may consider strong unqualified applicants)
Ability to teach PE across KS3KS5
Coaching qualifications (rugby hockey netball cricket athletics) highly advantageous
Commitment to leading extra-curricular sport and fixtures
Strong communication skills and passion for physical education
Salary
Salary will be paid on the independent school pay scale above the maintained sector.
