Job Summary:
The Quality Electrical Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all electrical systems components and installations meet defined quality standards regulatory codes and project specifications. This role involves inspecting electrical work identifying non-conformities documenting findings and ensuring corrective actions are implemented to maintain high levels of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct inspections of electrical systems wiring panels and components during all phases of construction or production.
- Verify that all work complies with relevant standards (e.g. NEC IEC) specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Review and interpret electrical drawings blueprints and technical specifications.
- Perform continuity insulation resistance and functionality testing of electrical systems.
- Document and report inspection findings including any deviations or non-conformances.
- Monitor and verify corrective and preventive actions related to electrical issues.
- Collaborate with engineering construction and quality teams to resolve quality-related concerns.
- Ensure proper use of tools PPE and test equipment in accordance with safety standards.
- Maintain accurate and organized inspection records and logs.
- Support internal and external audits as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or associate degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 5 years of experience as an electrical inspector electrician or in electrical QA/QC.
- Strong knowledge of electrical codes and standards (NEC NFPA IEC etc.).
- Familiarity with inspection and testing instruments (e.g. multimeters insulation testers megohmmeters).
- Certification(s) such as Certified Electrical Inspector (CEI) NICET or OSHA 30 is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics blueprints and technical documentation.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong documentation skills.
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Work Environment:
- May require working in industrial or manufacturing environments.
- Occasional lifting climbing or working in confined spaces may be necessary.
Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required in designated areas.
