We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Remote Airfreight Operations Specialist to manage end-to-end airfreight operations for import and export shipments with a specialized focus on German trade lanes. This role is critical to ensuring the timely compliant and efficient movement of cargo across global supply chains particularly in coordination with our European team operating within CET working hours. The ideal candidate will serve as a key liaison between carriers freight agents customs authorities and internal stakeholders driving seamless execution from booking to final delivery. With a strong commitment to compliance problem resolution and customer service this position plays a vital role in maintaining operational excellence and reliability in international airfreightespecially for shipments involving Germany.
Responsibilities:
Oversee the full lifecycle of airfreight shipments including booking documentation transit tracking and final delivery
Prepare review and verify essential shipping documents such as Air Waybills (AWB) Master Air Waybills (MAWB)/House Air Waybills (HAWB) and customs clearance paperwork
Act as the primary point of contact for airlines freight forwarders ground handlers and clients to ensure smooth and timely operations
Monitor shipment status in real time proactively identifying and resolving disruptions to maintain on-time performance
Ensure strict adherence to IATA standards EU regulations and international customs requirements with specialized knowledge of German import and export procedures
Collaborate effectively with the European team aligning workflows and availability with CET time zones.
Requirements
Requirements:
3 years of hands-on experience in airfreight forwarding or logistics operations with proven experience in both German export and import shipments
In-depth understanding of cargo handling procedures international customs processes and documentation standards including German-specific regulatory requirements
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English(German is a plus)
Highly organized detail-focused and capable of managing multiple priorities under pressure
Familiarity with freight management systems such as Scope Cargowise or similar platforms is preferred
Proven ability to work independently and maintain accountability in a remote self-directed environment
Must have direct experience with German export and import airfreight shipments
