Permanent Full-time Home-based


The Opportunity

The Washington State Department of Health is committed to protecting and improving the health of its residents. Within the Executive Office of Prevention Safety & Health the Center for Whole Person Care (CAWPC) drives equitable access to comprehensive health and social services statewide.

This position supports the Rural Nursing Education Program (RNEP) by providing high-level administrative operational and communications support to the Director Manager program staff students and partner institutions. Youll help coordinate program activities maintain essential documentation manage schedules support communication across multiple organizations and ensure smooth operations that advance RNEPs mission.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage calendars schedule meetings prepare agendas take minutes and distribute materials.
  • Draft edit and format correspondence newsletters reports and program materials.
  • Maintain proactive communication with colleges clinical sites community partners and students.
  • Update and manage RNEP digital platforms including the WA Portal shared drives and communication tools.
  • Track program timelines deliverables and documentation to keep key tasks on schedule.
  • Provide expert-level support for virtual meetings and educational sessions.
  • Assist with fiscal activities including procurement requests reimbursements invoices travel coordination and expenditure tracking.
  • Support the establishment and monitoring of office procedures standards and deadlines.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

OPTION 1:A minimum of three years of experience providing administrative and/or clerical support.


OPTION 2:Bachelors degree in communications business or a closely related field and a minimum of one year of experience providing administrative and/or clerical support.


Additional Required Knowledge Skills Abilities and Experience:


  • Strong organizational communication and multitasking skills.
  • Maintaining confidentiality professionalism and attention to detail.
  • Working both independently and collaboratively with multiple interested groups and partners.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel Outlook Teams) and virtual meeting platforms.
  • Proficiency in organizing travel procurement and meeting coordination.


Preferred/Desired Knowledge Skills Abilities and Experience:

  • Experience supporting grant-funded programs higher education health care or nonprofit organizations.
  • Familiarity with rural health or nursing education programs.
  • Experience with bookkeeping office management systems or updating web and social media content.
  • Experience coordinating multi-partner projects or initiatives.

Conditions of Employment:


This position is covered by a bargaining unit for which the Washington Federation of State Employees (WFSE) is the exclusive representative.


I am prepared with or without accommodations to do the following:

  • Commit to a full-time 40-hour workweek schedule (flexible work schedule requests must be approved supervisor).
