Primary Responsibilities:
- Participate in IEP conferences and other meetings where the special education teachers expertise is needed.
- Plan and implement instruction to meet each students individual learning needs.
- Collect data for progress monitoring of curriculum and IEP.
- Develop and implement Behavior Intervention Plans and Functional Behavior Analyses with the IEP team.
- Utilize the Child Study Team as a resource to problem solve and collaborate around student needs.
- Establish and maintain open and positive interactions with students and their parents.
- Establish and maintain open and positive interactions with all staff members.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation and follow established timelines for completing paperwork.
- Provide technical expertise/guidance to non-certified personnel and volunteers.
- Pursues educational studies to maintain and improve professional levels of performance.
- Other responsibilities as directed by the building and district administration.
Qualifications:
- Illinois State Professional Educator License with LBS1 endorsement
- Knowledge in best practices for students with autism spectrum disorders
- Experience with students on the autism spectrum
