The Platform Support Specialist provides advanced operational support for containerized platforms and supporting infrastructure in a telecom environment. This role focuses on Kubernetes Linux Python and Ansible automation with hands-on exposure to cloud platforms. You will ensure platform reliability performance security and scalability while partnering closely with L1/L3 support application teams vendors and infrastructure specialists.
What will your job look like
- Kubernetes & Containers
- Operate monitor and troubleshoot Kubernetes clusters (incl. RBAC namespaces deployments pods services ingress).
- Manage platform components (Helm charts operators registries) and optimize scheduling autoscaling and resource quotas.
- Automation & Configuration
- Develop robust Python automation (deployments health checks remediation reporting).
- Build Ansible playbooks/roles for configuration management patching and drift remediation.
- Linux & Infrastructure
- Perform Linux administration (user management package management security hardening performance tuning).
- Support platform capacity planning patching cycles and backup/restore operations aligned to RPO/RTO targets.
- Cloud & PaaS
- Support workloads on cloud platforms (e.g. Azure) and enterprise Kubernetes distributions (e.g. OpenShift).
- Integrate platform services with observability and secrets management.
- Reliability & Operations
- Implement proactive monitoring alerting and performance tuning (e.g. Prometheus/Grafana ELK).
- Resolve L2/L3 incidents conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and deliver permanent fixes.
- Process & Collaboration
- Use ITSM tools (e.g. ServiceNow) for incident change and problem management; ensure SLA adherence and documentation quality.
- Create and maintain runbooks SOPs and knowledge articles; collaborate with application owners developers and vendors.

Mandatory Requirements
- Advanced proficiency in Python (beyond basic scripting; production-grade tooling/automation).
- Proven Linux administration experience (troubleshooting performance security).
- Proficient in Ansible (playbooks roles inventories CI/CD integration).
- Expertise in Kubernetes (operations troubleshooting scaling security).
- Hands-on exposure to cloud platforms (e.g. Azure; OpenShift/RHOCP experience is a plus).
Required Skills & Experience
- 5 years in platform/IT operations supporting containerized and/or virtualized environments.
- Strong troubleshooting analytical thinking and incident/RCA discipline in SLA-driven environments.
- Experience with observability stacks (Prometheus Grafana ELK) and Git-based workflows.
- Familiarity with networking fundamentals (DNS TCP/IP load balancing certificates/TLS).
- Experience with ITSM tools (ServiceNow) and change management best practices.
- Ability to work in a 247 support model with rotational on-call.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)
- VMware stack experience (vSphere ESXi vCenter).
- Experience with Helm Operators and container registries.
- Knowledge of security practices (RBAC PodSecurity secrets management).
- Exposure to databases (Snowflake NoSQL) for platform-integrated services.
- CI/CD tooling (Jenkins GitLab CI) and Infrastructure-as-Code practices.
