Job Responsibilities
Under limited supervision of the Central Classification Branch Chief and the Associate Warden for Operations.
Supervise the organization training and daily work activities of classification caseworkers.
Monitor caseloads to ensure equitable distribution of work and caseloads.
Monitor reviews and serves as a member of the ICC to evaluate and classify inmates.
Serves as the central point of contact on classification matters.
Supervise and monitor all classification actions to ensure compliance with policy.
Plan and schedule class activities.
Manage a reduced caseload of inmates.
Interpret court order to determine sentence time and computation.
Monitor housing to ensure compliance with agency policy.
Conduct on-going training for institutional classification staff.
Perform other classification related duties as required.
Must successfully complete four (4) weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire.

Minimum and Additional Requirements
State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:
A bachelors degree and related experience.
SCDC Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelors degree and one (1) year of inmate classification experience.
OR- An associates degree and two (2) years of inmate classification experience.
OR- A high school diploma and four (4) years of inmate classification experience.
