Your role and work environment:

We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Head of Risk Model Development to join our Retail Credit Risk Team within ING Risk Domain.

The responsibility of the Retail Credit Risk team is to oversight the risk in the Spanish Retail Lending portfolio during the whole credit lifecycle and our way of working is 100% flexible in small subject-expert areas and with a continuous interaction with international teams.

Your key responsibilities:

As a Head of Risk Model Development you will:

Lead a team of 5-7 data analysts and model developers in charge of developing risk regulatory models. As a team leader you will lead the strategic direction development and governance of risk models across the retail portfolios of Mortgages and Consumer Lending ensuring that all modelling activities align with regulatory expectations internal governance standards and business objectives.

You will play a critical role in supervising the development of IRB and IFRS9 (EAD PD LGD) and Credit decision models driving innovation in modelling practices and representing the modelling function in senior leadership and regulatory forums. The role requires strong leadership technical expertise and the ability to translate complex modelling outcomes into actionable insights for decision-makers.

Your ability to navigate senior stakeholder relations is critical as you will be the main point of contract for all modelling conversations with senior management regulators and internal stakeholders (Business Finance Data Management etc.) to communicate modelling strategy and outcomes.

ING Spain is developing locally this new capability responsible for regulatory model development end-to-end you will have the chance to guide shape and build the success of the team with the support of ING Group in Amsterdam and the Risk Hub center of expertise in Poland. ING is going through a growth phase in Spain and models play a key role to support the growth. You will be one of the key factors in making that happen.

• Bachelors degree or equivalent in Economics Statistics Maths or Engineering.
• 5-10 years of quantitative Risk models development experience.
• Excellent knowledge of statistics and/or mathematics as well as in SAS and SQL.
• Understanding of Basel capital framework and IFRS 9.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Strong senior stakeholder management and communications skills.
• Ability to critically analyze complicated model outputs and provide challenges/recommendations.
• Pro-active mind-set. Focus on delivering pragmatic and feasible solutions.
• Fluent English and Spanish language skills.
• Availability for occasional travels to attend training or meetings in other ING locations.

Estamos buscando un/a Head of Risk Model Development con talento y entusiasmo para unirse a nuestro equipo de Retail Credit Risk dentro del dominio de ING Risk.

La responsabilidad del equipo de Retail Credit Risk es supervisar el riesgo en la cartera de préstamos retail en España durante todo el ciclo de vida del crédito. Nuestra forma de trabajar es 100% flexible en áreas pequeñas de expertos/as en la materia y con una interacción continua con equipos internacionales.

Tus principales responsabilidades:

Como Head of Risk Model Development deberás:

• Liderar un equipo de 5-7 data analysts y model developers encargados/as de desarrollar modelos regulatorios de riesgo. Como líder del equipo marcarás la dirección estratégica el desarrollo y la gobernanza de los modelos de riesgo en las carteras retail de Hipotecas y Préstamos al Consumo asegurando que todas las actividades de modelización se alineen con las expectativas regulatorias los estándares internos de gobernanza y los objetivos del negocio.
• Desempeñar un papel crítico supervisando el desarrollo de modelos IRB e IFRS9 (EAD PD LGD) y modelos de decisión de crédito impulsando la innovación en las prácticas de modelización y representando la función de modelización en foros de liderazgo sénior y regulatorios. El rol requiere un liderazgo sólido experiencia técnica y la capacidad de traducir resultados complejos de modelización en insights accionables para la toma de decisiones.

Tu capacidad para gestionar relaciones con stakeholders sénior será clave ya que serás el punto principal de contacto para todas las conversaciones sobre modelización con la alta dirección reguladores y stakeholders internos (Business Finance Data Management etc.) para comunicar la estrategia y los resultados de modelización.

ING España está desarrollando localmente esta nueva capacidad responsable del desarrollo end-to-end de modelos regulatorios. Tendrás la oportunidad de guiar dar forma y construir el éxito del equipo con el apoyo de ING Group en Ámsterdam y el centro de expertise Risk Hub en Polonia. ING está en una fase de crecimiento en España y los modelos juegan un papel clave para apoyar este crecimiento. Serás uno de los factores clave para hacerlo realidad.

Qué buscamos

• Grado universitario o equivalente en Economía Estadística Matemáticas o Ingeniería.
• Más de 5-10 años de experiencia en desarrollo cuantitativo de modelos de riesgo.
• Excelente conocimiento de estadística y/o matemáticas así como en SAS y SQL.
• Comprensión del marco de capital de Basilea y de IFRS 9.
• Sólidas habilidades de liderazgo y gestión de equipos.
• Gran capacidad de gestión de stakeholders sénior y habilidades de comunicación.
• Capacidad para analizar críticamente resultados complejos de modelos y aportar retos/recomendaciones.
• Mentalidad proactiva. Enfoque en ofrecer soluciones pragmáticas y viables.
• Dominio de inglés y español.
• Disponibilidad para viajes ocasionales para asistir a formaciones o reuniones en otras ubicaciones de ING.
