An exciting opportunity to join CAMHs dynamic Bridging Service team! The Bridging Service aims to provide low-barrier rapid access to care for clients following an acute episode of care. We are currently seeking a full-time temporary (until March 31 2026) Social Worker. As a member of an inter-professional the successful candidate will be responsible for providing assessment crisis intervention brief psychotherapy disposition planning and social work specific services to clients in the Bridging Service. This role will involve providing psychosocial support psychoeducation and making referrals to internal and external services. The successful candidate will also assist with coordination and screening of referrals; obtaining collateral information and supporting intake calls from clients and family members. You will liaise with Access CAMH and other CAMH programs community agencies and practitioners to coordinate care for clients. You will be able to work with clients from diverse populations; contribute to program development; provide education support to students and participate in the research activities of the program. This position may also involve facilitating groups. Your skills include the ability to make behavioral observations risk assessments provide brief psychotherapy and crisis support family support documentation and ongoing communication with other team members. A commitment to high quality of customer service is required. You will support a workplace that embraces diversity encourages teamwork and complies with all applicable regulatory and legislative position is located at 1051 Queen Street West. Since the Bridging Clinic is open from 9-9 M-F the successful candidate will be expected to work both day and evening-time hours depending on operational needs and staffing.
The successful candidate will possess a Masters of Social Work degree combined with a preference for 3 years of post-graduate work experience and be registered and a member in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. You must be eligible for an adjunct faculty appointment with the faculties of social work that has affiliation agreements with CAMH. You also have experience working in a psychiatric/mental health setting. The successful candidate must have an excellent working knowledge of and competency in the areas of DSM V diagnostic criteria and various modalities of psychotherapy particularly brief therapy models. Knowledge psychosocial rehabilitation principles crisis intervention case management and recovery are essential. Knowledge of emergency psychiatry community resources in mental health and substance abuse treatment and dialectical behavioural therapy (DBT) group facilitation is an asset. Preference will be given to applicants with experience in crisis and acute care settings. Excellent organizational interpersonal and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment are also essential. Computer skills including word processing electronic communication and workload measures are essential. You will be able to work effectively as a team member in a dynamic inter-professional environment and be a self-starter. Experience working with clients staff and organizations of diverse backgrounds is required. Bilingualism (French/English) or proficiency in a second language would be an asset.
