Job Summary
As a Database Engineer at goFLUENT you will play a key role in designing optimizing and maintaining the databases that power our global language learning solutions. You will ensure the reliability performance and scalability of our data systems while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to support product development and operational excellence.
What You Will Do
Design implement and maintain highly available and scalable database solutions.
Optimize database performance troubleshoot issues and ensure system reliability.
Develop and maintain database schemas stored procedures and queries.
Monitor database capacity security and integrity across environments.
Support data migration transformation and integration activities.
Collaborate with engineering teams to enhance application performance and data flows.
Implement best practices for backups recovery disaster planning and monitoring.
Ensure compliance with data governance privacy and security standards.
What We Are Looking For
Strong experience with relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL MySQL SQL Server) and/or NoSQL systems.
Solid understanding of database architecture indexing replication and performance tuning.
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS GCP or Azure) and managed database services.
Knowledge of scripting languages (Python Bash etc.) for automation.
Familiarity with CI/CD DevOps tools and modern development workflows.
Strong analytical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a global fast-paced engineering environment.
Education & Experience
Degree in Computer Science Information Technology Engineering or equivalent experience.
2 years of hands-on experience in database engineering administration or development.
